Fans of Diana Palmer know what they are getting with each book. There isn’t much of a surprise that he heroine is often a virgin, and the hero is often angry for some reason. I truly don’t know how she keeps giving us this formula, and knocking it out of the park. Each book draws me into its net, and I don’t want out until the bad guys are caught, the guy gets the girl, and I have chuckled once or twice by the antics of the people of Jacobsville. The men she writes about are alpha males that have issues. They aren’t these perfect men that always say the “right” thing to get the girl. Often times they have to work hard to get their big feet out of their mouths. Rourke is the king of those traits, and I loved him all the more for it.
Rourke has spent years believing a lie that kept him away from the woman he wants most in this world. To do that he had to be beyond cruel to her, going as far as to make her believe that he hated even the touch of the touch of her. But he was always the first one there when she was in trouble. Now he knows the truth, and he is going to do what ever it takes to make her believe that he has always loved her.
